Terms of Service

Effective: August 4, 2026 · Last updated: August 4, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ucracy, a civic engagement platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ucracy.

1. Eligibility

You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident to vote on bills. By using ucracy you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and remain responsible for activity under your account. One account per person. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. SMS and text messaging

By adding a mobile number and requesting a verification code, you consent to receive account-related text messages from ucracy, such as one-time passcodes and security notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle mobile information.

4. Acceptable use

Do not post content that violates our Community Guidelines or Content Policy, and do not use ucracy for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes. You may not manipulate votes or scores, or access the service through automated means or scraping. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules; bill numbers are retained but may be marked “Removed by moderator.”

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant ucracy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your public contributions in connection with operating the service. You are responsible for the content you post.

6. Voting, bills, and scores

Bills are public. Votes are public. You may change your vote at any time, and any optional one-sentence reason you attach to a vote is also public. Citizen voting scores reflect on-platform activity only and are not an official government tally.

7. Congressional data

Senator and representative voting records reference public Congressional roll-call data with best-effort accuracy. We do not guarantee that this third-party data is complete or error-free.

8. Intellectual property

The ucracy name, logo, and software are owned by ucracy and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ucracy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or our policies.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the date above; your continued use of ucracy constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
